Defence Headquarters yesterday dismissed a report that the military were fighting Boko Haram with inferior weapons.
A statement by deputy defence spokesman Group Captain Maigida Wap said: “The attention of the Directorate of Defence Information was drawn to the above headline attributed to have been said by its Director, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar.”
He added that: “This headline is not only inciting but completely out of context because the Director never made such statement throughout the media interaction with the AIT that invited him to shed light and sensitise Nigerians on the new antics of suicide bombers in the North-east.”
Wap also said that the Nigerian Armed Forces will continue to be professional and continue to guard the constitution and subordinate itself to democratic governance of this country.
