Boko Haram insurgents yesterday attacked Michika town in Adamawa State, burning down the only commercial bank office in the area.
The insurgents were said to have entered the town around 6:30pm after overpowering the military formation there.
Residents said the insurgents took control of the town for a moment, displacing hundreds of people, before the arrival of military reinforcement from Madagali.
A trader, Ibrahim Adi, told our reporter that the insurgents came in several trucks.
Sources indicated that the insurgents also burnt houses in Koppa village on their way back to Sambisa area. Casualty figure could not be ascertained as military authorities in Madagali could not be reached for comment.
