A member of the House of Representatives from Jigawa State, Magaji Da’u Aliyu, has said it is shameful that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo could mischievously change the narrative about security situation in the country, noting that the former president appeared to be suffering from old age.
“It’s shameful for such statement to come from Obasanjo. He was president under both military and civilian governments in this country. He has a lot of privileged information. If what he said is a privileged information, let him say it. But I think it’s old age that’s disturbing him. If not old age, I don’t think he should say such a thing. If you look at it, the victims of insurgency are Muslims, and even Fulanis. Before you hear of anybody else being killed, so many Muslims are killed.
“We pray God almighty brings an end to this. But he shouldn’t allow his political difference with the president to make him make all manner of statements,” he said.
