Boko Haram: Borno govt holds extraordinary security conference

How to tackle the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks particularly in Borno state, among others, formed the major talking point at an emergency extraordinary security meeting being convened in Maiduguri, at the instance of the state governor, Kashim Shettima.

The meeting was summoned after Boko Haram insurgents captured no fewer than seven communities between Baga and Monguno in the Northern Borno senatorial district in the last one week.

At the end of the one-day meeting, which newsmen were barred from covering, a delegation is expected to be raised to deliver the meeting’s resolutions to President Muhammadu Buhari, according to the programme schedule sighted by our reporter.
