Boko Haram attacks Yobe town, burns ambulance

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members on Wednesday invaded Gujba Town of Yobe State.

A member of the vigilante group in the area, Mohammed Musa, said the insurgents invaded the town through the southern flank without firing a single shot.

He said the attackers in their motorcade forcefully gained entrance into a hospital and carted away some drugs.

Another source from the hospital who doesn’t want to be named said the attackers pursued and burnt down the hospital’s ambulance that escaped from the scene of the attack.

He said security agencies only arrived at the scene after the attackers had left.

The army spokesman for sector II, Operation Hadin Kai in Damaturu, Lt Kennedy Anyewau, could not be reached on phone at the time of filing this report.
