Boat mishap: Delta commiserates with Nollywood, mourns Junior Pope, others

The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has condoled with the families of the victims of the Nollywood boat mishap, saying the death of the victims was unfortunate.

Governor Oborevwori, in a statement by his spokesman, Festus Ahon, urged Nollywood fans and stakeholders to accept the passing of the actors as unfortunate and prayed to God to grant their families, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the unfortunate deaths.

The statement reads in part: “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I commiserate with the Nollywood industry and families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate boat mishap.

“Perhaps, the deaths could have been avoided if the necessary safety measures were adhered to.
