The Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria has advised health record officers to embrace strategies, trainings and technologies that enhance their practice in line with the dynamics of international best practices.
Registrar of the board, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami gave the advice yesterday in Abuja during a retreat organized by the board.
He said for nearly 50 years, health records management practice has been essentially driven by brain, paper and pen, adding that there was need to live up to the modern realities through harnessing advances in electronic technology for information processing and management.
He said there was need to focus on crafting strategies to do a better job and improve their practice through using electronic health information management system.
