Chairman of the Secondary Education Board (SEB) in the FCT, Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, has urged principals of secondary schools to work hard and provide quality education in the territory.

Muhammad, in a statement issued by the board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Odugbo Sarah, stated this during a meeting  with 62 senior secondary school principals in the FCT, and staff members of the board on Tuesday.

The chairman said eight areas were identified as key to achieving the high standard the board was aiming for.

He said capacity building, man power development, effective monitoring and evaluation of academic activities, provision of physical and instructional materials, staff welfare, zero tolerance for corruption, establishment of new secondary schools where necessary and upgrading of existing ones as well as sport activities would also get attention.

These are the areas of priority for the board to achieve and leave a legacy, Alhaji Musa said.

The statement said, the Acting Director of the board, Mrs. Nanre Emeje, stressed the need for the staff to be civil in their dealings and put into use the civil service rules for efficiency and effectiveness in their various schedules.
