Following the mandate by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Technical and Development Sub-Committee has shortlisted four European coaches for the Super Eagles.
The committee led by Ahmed ‘Fresh’ Yusuf has submitted the names of the former Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde, former France coach, Laurent Blanc, former Derby county coach, Philip Cocu and Jose Peseiro to the NFF.

The World Cup-winning coach of France 1998, Laurent Blanc, is top on the list of four coaches recommended to the board of the NFF as the next manager of the Super Eagles.
Apart from serving as coach of the France national team twice, Blanc also coached Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain in the French top-flight league.
Ernesto Valverde is a former Barcelona coach who also managed Valencia, Olympiacos, Espanyol and Athletico Bilbao while Cocu was an assistant manager with Holland between 2008 and 2012 and is also a former coach of PSV, Fernabache and Derby County.
Peseiro, a former coach of Saudi Arabia and Venezuela is also a former manager of Sporting CP, Braga, Al Ahly, Al Hital and an assistant coach in Real Madrid.
NFF is expected to pick Gernot Rohr’s successor from one of the four coaches this week.
