Blackout in Rivers, Akwa Ibom as 330KVA Line Vandalised

The management of the Transmission Commission of Nigeria, TCN, has said that the vandalization of its 330KVA Odukoani/Ikot Ekpene transmission line has resulted in the collapse of tower T104 at Oku Iboku, Akwa Ibom State.

The Port Harcourt Regional Transmission Manager, Engr. D O. Udofia, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Saturday, said that the vandalization has led to a loss of power supply in its Rivers and Akwa Ibom areas of operation.

The statement read in part, “The Region wishes to inform the general public that vandals attacked our 330KVA Odukpani/Ikot Ekpene transmission line, resulting in the collapsed tower T104 at Oku Iboku. This act by the vandals affected our system very badly,

“While apologizing for the loss of supply, we frown seriously against this act of vandalism and plead with the general public to join us to condemn it and desist from such.”
