Bishop donates wheelchairs to physically challenged persons in Shendam

The Catholic Bishop of Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State, Most Rev. Dr Philip Davou Dung, has donated wheelchairs to physically challenged persons in the diocese.

Rev Dung, who presented the wheelchairs to the beneficiaries at the Divine Mercy Catholic Hospital Luuwokur Total, said the gesture is to facilitate their mobility.

He said the donation is part of the church’s humanitarian services and its commitment to better the lives of the physically challenged and give them a sense of belonging.

In her remarks, Sr Bernadette  Duru OP,  the Sister in charge of Divine Mercy  Hospital, thanked the bishop for putting smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries and prayed God to continue to bless the Diocese of Shendam.

The representative of the CAN chairman, Shendam Local Government, Mr Mathias Dajan, also thanked the church in Shendam for the kind gesture.

Also, the JNI chairman of Shendam Local Government represented by the Secretary, Alhaji  Sarajo Babayo, commended the bishop for rekindling the hope of people with disabilities to live their dreams.

The  beneficiaries were drawn from Kwande, Langtang, Shendam and  Kwa, deanaries, and they included both Christians and Muslims.
