A prominent Adamawa State politician, Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani), has begun reconnecting with her supporters in a series of appreciation gestures.
Over the weekend, Binani, the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, met with hundreds of her supporters in Yola to express her gratitude for their unwavering backing.
The gathering was composed mostly of delegates who had voted for her during the APC governorship primary.
As part of her appreciation, Binani distributed 1,000 bags of fertilizer, with each of her 430 delegates receiving a 50kg bag.

Recall that Binani secured the party’s ticket by earning 430 votes, defeating five male contenders, including her closest rival, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, now the National Security Adviser (NSA), who garnered 288 votes.
Addressing the delegates, Binani expressed profound thanks, referring to them as the “ladder” that helped her secure the APC nomination to contest in the 2023 elections.
Daily Trust further reports that despite her ambition of becoming Nigeria’s first elected female governor, Binani’s 398,788 votes in the 2023 governorship election placed her second, behind Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who won with 430,861 votes.
A former commissioner and supporter, Julius Kadara, commended Binani’s decision to return and thank her supporters, noting it as a rare and admirable gesture in the political arena.
