The Federal Polytechnic Bida has built and donated a Shea butter processing centre to the people of Ekosa community in Lavun local government area of Niger state as part of its effort at reviving local industry.

The institution also donated electro-manual operated blowers to Dokodza and Tswatamukun communities within Bida town to aid production of brass works.

Speaking during the handing over of a shea butter processing centre at Ekosa village on Sunday, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Abubakar Dzukogi, explained that the gesture was part of the Institution’s corporate social responsibility to the people of its host communities.

In his remarks, the chairman of the polytechnic’s CSR committee, Usman Okene, said it discovered that the people of Ekosa stayed under the sun to process shea butter, hence the provision of the centre.
