Benue PDP elects Adaji as State chairman

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has elected Chief Ezekiel Adaji, a former House of Representatives member for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, as the new state chairman. 
The congress, which began at 8:00 am, on Thursday, was concluded at dusk with the announcement of the results by the chairman of the Benue Congress Electoral Committee, Alhaji Shaba Ibrahim.
Chief Adaji secured 2,482 votes to win the chairmanship, leading a newly-elected 27-member State Executive Committee (SEC).
Officials elected alongside Adaji include Comrade Dan Nyikwagh as State Secretary,  Tim Nyor as Public Secretary, Ibya Terkimbi as Youth Leader, and Mrs. Alice Albert as Women Leader, among others.
The new officials were immediately sworn in by the Caretaker Committee’s legal officer, Barrister Friday Ejembi.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Adaji expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and vowed that his team would provide the leadership Benue State needs, ensuring the party’s return to power.
He also promised swift action, including the establishment of a reconciliation committee to address grievances within the party.
Earlier, Alhaji Shaba Ibrahim noted that out of 2,910 listed delegates, 2,900 were accredited for the election.
