Benue killings: Idoma kingdom declares fasting, prayer

The Idoma kingdom in Benue State at the weekend resolved to go into fasting and prayer to God over the recent attacks by armed invaders who killed many people in two local government areas under the kingdom.

Our correspondent reports that in recent attacks on Idomaland otherwise known as Benue South Senatorial District, comprised of nine local government areas, 52 people were reported killed in Otukpo LGA and 47 in Apa LGA by armed men.

Worried by the development, the paramount traditional ruler of Idoma people worldwide, Och’Idoma Dr John Eliagwu Odogbo, called for an emergency stakeholders meeting at the weekend in his palace in Otukpo, where the decision to resort to divine intervention was reached.
