The Benue State government has approved the domestication of disability bill in order to better the chances of the Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the state.
Our correspondent reports that the move was in fulfilment of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s promise to facilitate the quick passage of the disability bill which was pending at the state House of Assembly for assent and domestication in the state.
Alia announced the approval of the bill yesterday night through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula after the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting.
“The Council also approved the domestication of the Disability Bill (2024) – giving disabled persons equal rights and privileges in the scheme of things and equally penalising anyone who discriminates against them,” he said.
