The Benue State House of Assembly has approved N6.644 billion for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
The approval was granted Thursday during the plenary session presided over by the Speaker of the House, Aondona Dajoh.
Earlier, Governor Hyacinth Alia in a correspondence titled “Submission of 2024 Supplementary Budget Estimates of N6,644,778,900 for the Conduct of Local Government Elections in Fiscal Year 2024”, which was read on the Assembly floor by the Speaker requested approval for the funds.

The lawmakers in a unanimous voice vote, approved the supplementary budget for the October 5 elections.
Speaker of the House, therefore announced the approval, adding that the move would reinforce the Governor Alia administration’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible election process for Benue State.
