The Benin Electricity Distribution Copany PLC, (BEDC), has resolved over 50,000 complaints in three years through the customer complaints unit, using the centralized Call Centre and complaints tracking software.
The Managing Director/CEO of the firm, Mrs. Funke Osibodu, represented by the Executive Director, (Commercial), Mr. Abu Ejoor, disclosed this at a public forum organized at the instance of the House of Representatives Committee on Power in Benin.
Besides, she said the company had installed over 120,500 meters and taken advantage of both the industry CAPMI Scheme and own funded meters.
She spoke on network improvement and upgrade, saying BEDC had added new injection substations to provide relief to the overloaded network and provided 500 distribution transformers.
According to her, the firm constructed 10 dedicated distribution lines for commercial and industrial customers, including replaced failed power transformers in addition to 398 distribution transformers provided in the review period.
