Bendel Insurance have stretched its unbeaten run to 13 games after playing out a 1-1 draw with Kwara United in the Match Day 13 of the Nigeria Premier Football League Saturday.

The Benin Arsenal who have now drawn their last four NPFL games struggled to get into the game played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.

The early minutes of the game saw Kwara United working tirelessly to frustrate every attack initiated by Bendel Insurance forwards.

The visitors were defensively solid against an attacking Insurance who on a few occasions lacked the cutting edge to get a goal as the first half ended goalless.

The second half began the same manner the first half ended and the hosts were punished for failing to take their chances when Alao Mohammed scored from a free kick in the 68th minute to put Kwara United in front.

At this point, Bendel Insurance began to put everything forward to prevent a first loss of the season. There were penalty calls that were ignored by the centre referee Yemisi Akintoye.

However, in the 78th minute, their efforts paid off when Deputy Echeta levelled the scoreline from a goal-mouth scramble as efforts to get all three points failed with the game ending 1-1.

In the same vein, Dakkada FC earned their first win in the last five games after defeating NPFL new boys Doma United 1-0 at the Nest of Champions yesterday.

Doma who had prior to this game gone 3 games without a loss was made to eat the humble pie.

Dakkada had dominated possessions but with no clear cut while Doma United had the best chance of the game towards halftime but failed to take their chance.

In the 59th minute, Dakkada’s pressure paid off as they take the lead as they continue to fight their way out of the Group B relegation zone.

Meanwhile, football action continues today with the biggest game being Shooting Stars and Remo Stars in the Southwest derby
