Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has sacked the Accountant General of the state, Mr Ibrahim Idakwo and all permanent secretaries with exception of the Permanent Secretary in charge of Government House.
A statement issued Monday in Lokoja by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, said the governor also directed all Heads of Administrations to proceed on compulsory leave with immediate effect.
"I wish to confirm that His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello has directed that all Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Administration are to go on compulsory leave with immediate effect.
"The only exemption in this category are people on acting capacity and the Permanent Secretary, Government House.
"Also, the Accountant General has been relieved of his position while the second in command will also proceed on the compulsory 30 days leave.
"At the Local Government level, the DLGs, Treasurers, Education Secretaries and cashiers are also to proceed on compulsory leave. The decision is geared towards ensuring a more efficient and productive civil service. The directive takes effect from tomorrow", the statement said.
