Speaking during the commissioning, Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, said the state-of-the-art facility is one of the best in the country.

He promised to also build a separate facility for orphans who have reached the age of 18 years and above.

He commended the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for demonstrating unwavering commitment to the realisation of the project.

The Commissioner, Mrs. Amina Gu’ar, said the orphanage had 52 orphans out which 17 are in schools.

An orphan, Malam Husaini Aliyu, who has spent 28 years in the facility and holds a National Diploma, thanked the state government for offering him a job in the state civil service.
