Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has said that being a member of Rotary International has helped him in the governance of the state.
The governor made the statement on Thursday during a District Conference organized by Rotary District 9125 at the Millennium Conference Hall in Jos
He said, “I am very glad to be part of Rotary International’s goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons, who are united in the ideals of a better world.”
“This has also, by and large, helped me in the governance of Plateau State, where in the last four years, I ensured that peace, security and good governance were accorded topmost priority.” He said.
Lalong also urged the leadership of Rotary District 9125 to explore more avenues and to strive hard in eradicating poverty, hunger, diseases and human misery in the contemporary crisis-stricken world for the benefit of society.
Governor Lalong while appreciating the Rotary International for its numerous humanitarian projects that are scattered around Jos and environs, urged members of the club to ensure that the club’s principles of the 4-Way Test: Truth, Fairness, Goodwill and Friendship, remain their guiding compass in the course of all their activities.
“Our doors would remain open to Rotary International for partnership and fostering a good working relationship which would be beneficial to all and sundry.” He said.
