The Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has threatened to sack any appointee found disloyal to his administration and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor gave the warning during the swearing-in of two new commissioners, one special adviser and 20 local government caretaker committee chairmen at the weekend in Bauchi.

He said, “Let me warn all the new appointees that this administration has no place for corrupt, disloyal, indolent and incompetent officials. You should be absolutely loyal to the present administration in the state and be totally committed to its objectives.

“For the avoidance of doubt, let me clearly state that I will not hesitate to remove any official found wanting or disloyal to the government or our great party, the PDP.”

Mohammed explained that the appointment of the two new commissioners followed the exit of Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde, the erstwhile Commissioner for Education and Hon Abdullahi T. Musa, the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties from the state executive council.

He said Dr Tilde resigned on his own volition while Musa quit the state cabinet to be appointed into another position.

“Consequently, the vacancies created by the exit of the two commissioners have been filled by the appointment of Malama Jamila Mohammed Dahiru and Hon. Amina Mohammed Katagum to replace Dr Aliyu Tilde and Hon Abdullahi Musa respectively,” Mohammed said.

The governor also appealed to all political parties and their supporters to conduct their campaigns orderly and eschew thuggery and other forms of electoral malpractices.
