The maiden edition of the reality television show, Big Brother Titans simply referred to as BBTitans has come and gone but it would be the talk of the town for a long while.
The reality television show is the joint South African and Nigerian edition of the Big Brother franchise. The theme for this edition was, “Ziyakhala Wahala”.
The show, which premiered on January 15, 2023, with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Lawrence Maleka as co-hosts of the show, features housemates from South Africa and Nigeria, competing for the grand prize of $100,000 (R1.7 million/₦46 million).
While the contest began with 20 competitors, after about 11 gruelling weeks on the show, a South African journalist, Khosi, walked home with the grand prize.
BBTitans finale: Six housemates battle for $100k today
BBTitans taught me to be confident, says Evicted Housemate
Six housemates — Tsatsii, Ipeleng, Ebubu, Yvonne, Kanaga Jnr, and Khosi — battled to be crowned the winner of BBTitans but the South African journalist won the competition.
The 25-year-old was the first housemate announced on Big Brother Titans 2023. Khosi was born in Nata, Central District of Botswana but she is from South Africa.
During the period of the show, Khosi appeared to be a strong favourite across Africa. The odds also seemed to be in her favour. Moreso, Khosi faced more eviction nights than any other housemate in the Big Brother Titans House.
She was nominated for eviction every week except the respite weeks, which were week one, week 6 and week 8. During those weeks, no other Housemates were up for eviction in those weeks.
