Laycon, an indigene of the state won the N85 million grand prize of the reality show.
But on Wednesday, the Ogun state chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in a statement issued by its chairman, Bamgbose Tomiwa faulted the governor’s gestures.
The body said the students of Tai Solarin University of Education under The Umbrella of ENACTUS, that won a global competition that had 128 teams from about 120 countries as participants, were more deserving of the governor’s gesture.
“If we are to break it down conservatively, a 3-bedroom apartment will cost N25m. If such money had been judiciously used as expected of a responsible government, it would have refurbished at least two primary health centres in the State,” it said.
