Veteran broadcaster, Frank Edoho, has called out those asking him to replace Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as host of the Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) reality TV show.
Edoho became popular for successfully hosting “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM)” for 13 years.
On Friday, some Nigerians on Twitter called on the organisers of the show to consider replacing Ebuka with renowned broadcaster and filmmaker.
They had argued that his selection would make the show more interesting.
One of the fans had said: “Ebuka don eat small, make him allow another person chop! Frank Edoho as BBNaija host for this season won’t be a bad choice.”
In his reaction, however, Edoho explained that Ebuka has not done anything to warrant calls for his replacement.
He said although he would make his return to the screen soon, he is not contemplating hosting the reality TV show.
He wrote: “What did Ebuka do to deserve all this? Why would you want to change someone that has done a show successfully for only 3 years and have him replaced with one who did WWTBAM for 13 years? Leave Ebuka alone! Please. I will be back on TV soon. But absolutely not on Big Brother.”
Ebuka has been hosting the show since 2017 and he is likely to get the nod for its sixth season scheduled to start later in the year.
Organisers of the show had earlier revealed that this year’s winner will bag N90 million as grand prize.
