The radio personality and actress made the disclosure via twitter on recently saying, “I have cancer. Are you guys happy?????”
Although she didn’t reveal the nature or extent of the cancer, it would be recalled that Karen had previously undergone treatment when lumps were found in her breast before entering the Big Brother Africa house in 2011.
In a telephone chat with Sunday Trust, Kareen’s manager said they could not comment on the issue now.
“We will not comment on the issue of cancer now as it is still a sensitive thing. Medical tests are still been run and we would appreciate if our decision not to comment on it is respected,” he said.
On a happy note, Karen Igho, is giving back to the society by launching a fund raising ‘Celebrity Football Match’ and ‘Fashion and Lifestyle sale’.
The match set to kick off in March 2014 will enlist celebrities such as Denrele, past Big Brother Africa participants as well as other celebrities yet to be announced. DSTV is also one of the biggest sponsors of the event.
World Pr Media will, in the next few weeks work with interested celebrities, philanthropists, sponsors as well as charity houses to make the day a success.
This is not the first time Karen will explore her charitable side, as the face of Exquisite Magazine’s Walk against Cancer, she continues to help raise awareness for cervical and prostate cancer.  She also regularly spends time with one of her favourite charities, the Red Cross Motherless babies unit in Yaba.
