Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said striker Robert Lewandowski is not for sale.
The 29-year-old’s 32 goals haul this season has attracted a lot of suitors- the Santiago Bernabeu side being one of them.
The European champions are looking for a new striker who will compete with Karim Benzema for the No. 9 position.
Rummenigge believes that just as Chelsea failed to lure Franck Ribery away 10 years ago, Real Madrid will fail in their bid.
“I always like to remember 2008, when we had an amazing offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery,” he told Kicker. “From that day on, the whole football world knew: nobody can buy a Bayern Munich player against Bayern Munich’s will.
“I want to assume that Robert is 100 per cent going to play for Bayern next season.”
Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
