Bayelsa: Police nab suspected cultist, recover pistol, live cartridge

Nigerian Police Force in Bayelsa State have arrested one Raymond Odozi, a suspected cultist who have been terrorizing Yenagoa, the state capital and it’s environs.

The suspect was in possession of a locally made pistol and live cartridge when arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Thursday, said that the police arrested the suspected cultist at Gwegwe street on Tuesday, November 13, following a tip-off by community youths.

He said: “The consultative meeting by the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command CP Joseph Mukan, with youths and vigilant groups is recording remarkable gains as members of the public are volunteering useful information to the Police.

“On 13 November, 2018 at about 0900 hours, based on a tip-off by community youths, the Police arrested one Raymond Odozi ‘m’ 24 years, at Gwe Gwe Street in possession of one locally made pistol and a live cartridge.

“The suspect is undergoing investigation and will soon be charged to court”, the statement reads.
