Bayelsa: NGO to train 100 orphans on creativity

The promoter of the initiative and Executive Director of Pro-KECI, Mr Eyinimi Omorozi, told journalists Thursday in Yenagoa

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Pro-Kids Educational and Cultural Initiative (Pro-KECI), has said it plans to train 100 talented children living in orphanages in Bayelsa  State on creative art and talent development.

The promoter of the initiative and Executive Director of Pro-KECI, Mr Eyinimi Omorozi, told journalists Thursday in Yenagoa  that the programme was designed to support and improve the welfare of the children living in the various orphanages.

He said the programme, tagged “Children of Hope” was being arranged in collaboration with the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Gender.

He explained that, “The Children of Hope is a charity benefit programme designed to support and improve the welfare situation and the overall development of children living in various Bayelsa orphanages.

“It is intended to help raise critical funds to support the provision of qualitative basic education, essential health care, good nutrition, clean water and social services for this less privileged group of children.

“The programme is to engage about 100 talented children between the ages of six and 17 who will be carefully groomed by a team of seasoned professionals in various creative art forms.

“Aside from its immediate intended purpose, the Children of Hope programme is also aimed at promoting the artistic and creative abilities of talented Bayelsa children to increase their creative thinking, thus stimulating various career opportunities for in the future both in the commercial and entertainment industries.”
