Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, who is the chairman of the Bayelsa State governorship primary election committee of the All Progressives Congress, says the party is committed to winning the governorship election.
Addressing journalists in Yenagoa yesterday ahead of today’s primary election, Buni said the party would ensure its candidate emerges within the timetable set by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Buni, who had met with all the aspirants and other stakeholders, said:
“We are one family. Once we are done with the primary election now, we will all rally round our party’s flag bearer and ensure that we win Bayelsa State for our party”, he said.
He had told the stakeholders that since the party and all the aspirants had resolved to adopt direct mode for its primary, the committee would go ahead with the exercise.
He said: “All the aspirants are on the page now. So, the party has adopted direct primary and it will hold on September 4, 2019.”
