President of the Association for Non Violence in Niger Delta, Comrade Kennedy Tonjo West, made the call in an interview in Yenagoa.
He decried Dickson’s weakness in managing some critical sectors of the state’s economy, causing hardships, poverty and suffering among the people in the process.
West said Dickson’s administration has abandoned two fishing trawlers, MV Margret and MV Dame Patience, acquired by the state government, leaving them to be wasted at Ogbia waterside for a long time.
He noted that the two abandoned trawlers were capable of empowering youths and generating 50 to 70 percent of the needed jobs for the teeming unemployed graduates.
He said: “There has never been proper revenue generation mechanism by Dickson’s administration since his assumption of office as a governor. There is gross underdevelopment in the state. The level of unemployment is accelerating in an unmanageable manner.
“There is no commerce, no human capacity building for the youth. Governance is anchored on service delivery. There has been high level of hardships, there is nothing going on in Bayelsa State.”
