Bayelsa gives Bosso players two-game ultimatum to win

Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr. Daniel Igali, has given coach Ladan Bosso and his team a two-game ultimatum to turn around the poor run of Bayelsa United or be sacked.

Igali while giving the ultimatum further instructed the club’s chairman, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe, to take disciplinary action against Bosso following his controversial comments after last Sunday’s 1-1 home draw with Enyimba.

Under Bosso’s leadership, Bayelsa United has struggled in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), currently languishing in the relegation zone. Following the draw with Enyimba, Bosso claimed that the players had not been cleared for the season.

In response to the team’s poor performance, the Bayelsa state government has issued an ultimatum to the coaching staff: they must secure victories in their next two matches, starting this weekend against Rivers United and Katsina United, or face the loss of their jobs. Igali warned that any players who do not meet the club’s standards would also be shown the exit door.

The Commissioner warned Bayelsa United could be disbanded if relegated, urging the team to improve and start winning.

“This team has only two games to get out of the position we are now, and if we are not going to do this, it will not only affect the technical adviser but the entire team. And any player that doesn’t deserve to be in the team will be shown the exit door” Igali stated.

The Prosperity Boys next three games are against Rivers United away, Katsina United home, and Shooting Stars away.
