The Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has arrested a man parading himself as an environmental sanitation official who extorts money from members of the public.
The suspect, Sele Record (45), who hails from Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, was arrested by the special squad of the vigilante service stationed at the Tombia Roundabout axis of Yenagoa, the state capital.

Record was arrested while trying to extort money from an aide of Gov Douye Diri, Hon Gabriel Mike Ogbara, on Tuesday.
The Chairman of the vigilante service, Hon Doubiye Alagba, while confirming the arrest, urged members of the public to be wary of such criminals and their modus operandi.
He said the suspect had been handed over to Operation Doo Akpo, a special unit of the state’s police command.
