Bayelsa council renovates Kaiama police division

Speaking during the ceremony, the police boss promised to give necessary support to all the demands raised by the community

The Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Mr Mike Okoli, has commissioned a renovated police division in Kaiama, headquarters of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

The divisional headquarters was renovated by the LG council to boost security.

Speaking during the ceremony, the police boss promised to give necessary support to all the demands raised by the community.

He said the division would be fortified with more men from the conventional police and mobile unit because the area was in a strategic location being a border community with Delta State.

The Chairman of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Chief Dengiye Ubarugu, said the renovation was undertaken to provide a conducive atmosphere for the police to perform their duties.

He said, “Having put this structure in place, we believe that our able officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in this station can now carry out their duties effectively by properly policing our communities.”
