Following the killing of some naval personnel in Agge, Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa state by gunmen suspected to be Sea Pirates, the leadership of Bilabiri ll community, one of the communities in Agge has promised to cooperate with the military authority to ensure that the hoodlums are brought to book.

The community, in a statement by the Chairman of Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Deputy Paramount Ruler, Chief Isaiah Couple, also alleged that there is a syndicate parading itself as the leader of Bilabiri Kingdom, with the malacious intent to blackmail the community.

According to them, the community has observed that some persons have been impersonating and blackmailing the King of Bilabiri Kingdom, HRM King Paul Seide over the incident.

While calling on the military authorities to verify claims and investigates the sources of informants, the community alleged that one “self-acclaimed king called (DoDo II) Mr Timipamone Ogun, who is our Highness’ political rival contending with our Highness, over the stool is supplying false, baseless and concoted information to malign our Highness, Minna Fun who was in military detention over the incident.

“Therefore, we urged the military to discountenance all information emanating from these unscrupulous sources.

“For the avoidnance of doubts, the Bilabiri Kingdom has only one monarch, His Royal Majesty, King Paul Brake-ere Seide, who is a second class traditional ruler and fully gazzeted by the Bayelsa State Government and recognized by law.

“Therefore, anyone parading himself or acting as the king of Bilabiri Kingdom is an impersonator and should be treated as such.

“We are calling on the security agencies, particular the military, to investigate and verify the veracity of information and identify anyone claiming to be the leader of Bilabiri Kingdom. We want to assure the military of maximum cooperation to locate and bring to book the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

“We must not condone the atrocities of disgruntled elements to avoid repeat. We further restate our cordial relationship with the Nigerian military and all other security agencies,” he said.
