About 1.6 million children between the ages of nine and 59 months are to be immunised against measles in Bauchi State.
This was disclosed by the state Coordinator of the Emergency Operation Centre at an interactive session with journalists on Tuesday.
The planned measles campaign is organised by the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
The Incidence Manager, Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Dr. Mansur Dada, said the exercise will be conducted from the 21st to 25th of November, in the 323 wards in the state. Dr. Dada said 1,615 teams will conduct the exercise and that each of them will consist of seven persons.
The Incidence Manager added that adequate security will be provided at all the immunisation centres.
He further stated that the exercise will be conducted in all 19 Northern states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
He said dates for the exercise in the southern states will soon be fixed.
