Bauchi: Police intercept stolen tanker with 35 tons of vegetable oil

Men of the Bauchi State Police Command have intercepted a stolen truck containing 35 tonnes of vegetable oil worth about N30 million and arrested a suspect.

The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement, said, “On the 12th of April, 2024, the Toro Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call reporting the theft of a trailer parked at the Mararaban Jos Trailer Park in Kaduna, Kaduna State.

“The truck, a DAF CF 85 model, contained 35 tonnes of groundnut oil worth about N30m and was from Umuahia, Abia State, to Kano State. The DPO immediately led operatives to track down the truck, which was intercepted while heading towards Bauchi State.”

Wakil said preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the truck parked at the Mararaban Jos Trailer Park to take a bath and that on returning he discovered that the trailer was missing from where it was parked.
