Bauchi journalist joins LG chairmanship contest

A Bauchi-based journalist and author, Najib Sani, has declared interest to contest the chairmanship of Bauchi Local Government Council on the platform of the APC in the forthcoming local government election in the state slated for October this year.

Sani, who is the state correspondent of Blueprint newspaper and also Financial Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state, made the declaration Tuesday in a statement signed and issued to newsmen shortly after picking the APC chairmanship nomination form in Bauchi.

The 32-year-old journalist said he was motivated to join the race so as to ensure that he did not only advocate youth involvement in governance but participated fully in politics.
