The Bauchi State Government has said the quality of infrastructural projects being embarked on in the state are all replicas of what the federal government is doing in the nation’s capital.

Recall that Governor Bala Mohammed is a former Minister of the FCT who was instrumental to many of the projects in Abuja.

The state’s officials made the disclosure over the weekend during a project tour by the FCT Minister’s Press Corps which was in the state for its annual media retreat.

An official of the state government, Chadi Muhammad, who is designated as the MC of the government house and the tour guide, said that many of the uncompleted infrastructure in the state were substandard and therefore not acceptable to the present government.

Muhammad disclosed that the governor, who always wanted value for every public funds disbursed, frowned at the substandard projects, especially major roads.

He said the governor emphatically told the contractors to adhere to Abuja standard, noting that Bauchi State needed the best, and that there must be commensurate value for money spent.

One of the numerous people-oriented projects, which the government said it had executed, is a $63m water project.

Also speaking, the Director of Engineering Services, Bauchi Ministry of Works, Mohammed Hamisu Garba, explained that the infrastructural development was not focused on one area, but spread across all the geopolitical zones of the state.

He noted that, “The 13.5km Warji-Gwaram road, Boi-Taoshin road, the dualisation of Awala Roundabout, Miri-Jos road and many others have been completed.”
