Bauchi govt to assist depositors of closed microfinance bank, others

Bauchi State Government has promised to assist workers and pensioners whose deposits were trapped in Garu Microfinance Bank and other Microfinance Banks in the state.

The State Head of Civil Service, Liman Bello disclosed this while addressing journalists on the recent revocation of licence of the affected Micro Finance Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He assured that the government would make alternative arrangements to resolve setbacks before the next payment of the salaries.

He said Bello the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has already commenced the distribution of forms to the affected people to streamline its intervention regarding their deposits.

He therefore called on the affected Workers and Pensioners to open a new Account within one week in banks of their choice in order to get their entitlements without delay.

Garu Micro Finance Bank and others had its operations license revoked by the CBN.

Other Microfinance Banks affected include; Guddiri Micro Finance Bank Azare, Darazo Micro Finance Bank, Misau Micro Finance Bank, Warji Micro Finance Bank and Itas Gadau Micro Finance Bank.
