Bauchi govt shuts school over arrest of principal

Bauchi State Ministry of Education has shut down Government Day Secondary School, Rimin Zayem, following the arrest of the principal of the school by the District Police Officer of Toro Local Government Area for disciplinary action taken by a teacher on a disobedient girl-child.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde, who disclosed this in a statement Wednesday in Bauchi, said the school would be closed until the community and police assure the ministry that its teachers were safe to discharge their duties.
