Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has signed the 2018 approved budget of N167,899,220.800 into law.

Abubakar had earlier presented a N167.9 billion appropriation bill.‎

Speaking during the signing of the budget in Bauchi yesterday, Governor Abubakar said that as in the proposed bill presented to the state House of Assembly, the approved budget ‎consisted of 40% recurrent and 60% capital expenditure.

He said education sector would get 19.22%‎ while health would get 15.23% percent share respectively.

He named other priority areas as agriculture, solid minerals, rural roads and tourism to develop the economy of the state.

Speaking after the signing of the budget, the speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Kawuwa Shehu Damina, said N52 million was reduced from the budget presented earlier by Governor Abubakar in a desire to balance the recurrent and capital expenditure estimates contained in the proposed appropriation bill.‎
