Bauchi gov knocks hisbah over spike in immorality

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed displeasure over the inability of the state’s hisbah board to address the increasing immorality and antisocial behavior, especially among youths and children, in the state.

The governor, who expressed this when he received imams from Juma’at mosques in Bauchi metropolis, assured that the government would reposition the board in a manner that would allow competent persons to carry out its activities effectively.

He said plans were underway to appoint Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) from Islamic and Christian organisations to further support the government’s commitment to societal re-orientation.
