Bauchi state Governor Bala Muhammed has approved the payment of October and November salaries of Local Government workers who were verified by the committee constituted by the government on the non-possession of the Bank Verification Number (BVN)
A statement by signed by the Acting Director, Press Affairs Government House Bauchi, Sulaiman Alhassan Dambam yesterday in Bauchi, also approved the payment of salaries of 101 State Civil Servants who missed the earlier verification with valid reasons and are now cleared by the committee.
The statement said that the development followed the completion of the committee’s assignment in the 20 local government areas of the state.
The statement explained that in the course of its assignment, the committee verified a total of 14,632 workers from the local governments out of which 13,285 were cleared while a total of 861 did not turn up for the exercise.
The statement noted that the governor has granted a 10-day extension to the committee in order to conduct verification of the State and Local Government pensioners.
