The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PowerDot, a United Kingdom (UK)-based energy firm, on $70 million investment cover to provide 10 megawatts (MW) of electricity using solid waste in the state.
Governor Mohammed said, “This MoU that we have signed to provide 10 megawatts of power through waste is key towards providing good governance.”
Responding, the Group Managing Director of the firm, Ambassador Anthony Esere, said Bauchi State was the second in Africa to benefit from such investment from the organisation.
He said the firm would commence the project by March, noting that the initiative would bring positive development to the state.
