Residents of Bani, a farming community in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi State, have decried lack of access road in the area, located off Gombe/Bauchi highway.
A farmer, Abubakar Muhammed, said lack of access road has made the area difficult to reach especially during the rainy and harvesting seasons.

“We cultivate various kinds of produce during the rainy season, and also engage in fruits and vegetables farming in the dry season, but our most concern is how to convey the products to the main road which is a journey of about five kilometres.’’
Another resident, Haruna Abubakar, lamented seeming lack of commitment on the part of teachers in the community’s primary school.
“Most of them only come to register their names in the morning and leave immediately,’’ he said.
The traditional leader of the community, Yahaya Adamu, said the only borehole serving them which was sunk by a philanthropist some years ago, had broken down.
He appealed for the rehabilitation of the borehole and provision of other amenities.
“We are appealing to the state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, to assist us with the access road,’’ he said.
