The emirate expressed this position in a communiqué read by the Galadiman Bauchi, Sa’idu Ibrahim Jahun, at the end of the council meeting in Bauchi yesterday.
The communiqué was signed by the Bauchi senior councillor, Alhaji Bala Abubakar Attahiru Ajiyan, and the secretary, Alhaji Shehu Mudi Mohammed.
The emirate said cars in the convoy were smashed including the spare car of the Emir of Dass and Bauchi, which forced the emirs to turn back to avoid loss of lives and properties.
It described the incident as barbaric, provocative, and misleading and urged the state and federal government to fish out the perpetrators and prosecute them to serve as a deterrent.
Daily Trust reports that the 21st memorial anniversary of late Baba Gonto turned violence as irate youths protested against the gathering and smashed some vehicles as well burnt down 10 houses and the place of the event.
