Bauchi bubbles for 2023 annual polo tournament

 

Preparations are in top gear as Bauchi Polo Club comes alive ahead of the much anticipated 2023 Bauchi Annual Polo Tournament that is billed to gallop off with fanfare between September and October this year.

Bauchi Polo Captain, Ismaila Sam Pam who dropped this hint, told Polo Royals that the city that is home to the foremost Yankari Games Reserves, is bracing for one of its grandest moments as  all the tournament committees are working toward hosting the prestigious event.

Ismaila exclusively disclosed that host teams are perfecting strategies to vie for all the major titles at stake during the polo extravaganza, assuring that all participating teams, polo enthusiasts and tourists would have a most memorable time in the ancient Hausa Kingdom.

Major titles at stake include the Governor’s Cup which is the event’s biggest reward. Other prizes are the Emir of Bauchi Cup, Emir of Katagum Cup and the low-goal Sarki Fulani Cup.

Checks revealed glittering subsidiary prizes like the Tafawa Balewa Cup, played in the everlasting memory of Nigeria’s Prime Minister, the Beginners Cup and the Veterans Cup would be carted home by lucky winners during the glamorous festival.

He also disclosed that established Nigerian polo patrons, top Nigerian professional players and their counterparts from Argentina and Europe are billed to display their awesome skills during the weeklong polo fiesta that has annually attracted the biggest crowd to the ancient Hausa Kingdom for decades still counting.
