The Bauchi State House of Assembly has concluded the screening of Alhaji Nura Manu Soro, Dr Ladan Salihu, Dr Aliyu Tilde and 17 others as commissioner-nominees for confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.
The screening exercise which was concluded on Wednesday started earlier on Tuesday.
The nominees screened include one from each of the 20 local government areas of the state.
The 11 other nominees include: Professor Adamu Ahmad, Abduqadir Ibrahim, Umar Abubakar Sade, Jidauna Tula Mbami, Hajara J. Gidado and Dr. Aminu H Gamawa.
Others are: Turaki M. Manga, Honourable Abdurrazaq Nuhu Zaki, Ahmad Aliyu Jalam, Pharmacist Sama’ila Adamu Burga, Honourable Muhammad Auwal Jatau, Honourable Moddibo U. Ahmed, Honourable Muhammad Sadiq, Barr. Yakubu Bello Kirfi, Alh Usman Giade and Honourable Hamisu Mu’azu Shira.
While some of the nominees were grilled by the lawmakers during the screening session about solutions to the slow growth by Bauchi state in some critical sectors like agriculture, youth empowerment, education and others sectors, other nominees were asked to take a bow and go because of their pedigree and experience.
The House plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman.
